  • Why do so many people love Goldendoodles?
They are a combination of two of the smartest dog breeds, the standard poodle, the golden retriever and sometimes the miniature or toy poodle.
  • What is a Multigen Goldendoodle?
A multigenerational or Multigen Goldendoodle is the result of breeding to Goldendoodles beyond the second generation meaning both of the dogs parents were Goldendoodles. The advantage to this is that often times they are more shed resistant and May offer allergy sufferers some relief. However, there is no guarantee A Goldendoodle is hypoallergenic.

  • What is the downside of having a Goldendoodle?
Because Goldendoodles do not have fur and grow hair they require regular grooming every 4 to 8 weeks. This is something you need to budget for as professional grooming costs between $50 and $100 each grooming or you can learn to groom yourself. This is not as difficult as it may sound. There are affordable quality grooming clippers for under $50. The one I used is in our Amazon shop. We also recommend brushes, combs, spray for clipper blades, scissors, etc. You can find good YouTube videos on how to groom a Goldendoodle. My recommendation is to make sure not to let someone give your Goldendoodle a poodle haircut. There's a distinct difference in their haircuts. Also, Goldendoodles need to be brushed several times a week to avoid mats in their hair. Brushing is a routine that should be started the first week home as a puppy. We have already exposed each puppy to brushes and combs. Try distracting them with a toy so they never chew on grooming tools.
  • When does my puppy need to be groomed for the first time?
Your puppy will be bathed before you pick your puppy up. We recommend waiting until your puppy has had all of its vaccinations before you expose it to a professional grooming shop or pet store. Your puppy will have a cute puppy look that so many people adore in Goldendoodles. You may bathe your puppy with gentle tear free puppy shampoo every 2 to 4 weeks. Be careful not to bathe your puppy too often as their skin may become too dry. If the hair around their eyes becomes too long for them to see it can be carefully trimmed with a pair of hair cutting scissors. We recommend you have someone help you hold puppy when trimming.
